Hotel Star Definiton
Hotels are often classified by star ratings, with 1 to 5 stars awarded based on facilities, location and services offered, including food service, entertainment, spas and fitness rooms.
For example: a
1-star hotel in Paris offers a very limited range of amenities and services, sometimes without an en suite bathroom.
2-star hotels offer better equipped bedrooms and more amenities.
A three star hotel in Paris offers modernly designed and more spacious rooms, with furnishings beyond the basic bed and small chest of drawers, often including a color TV set.
The hotel itself also has one or more bars / lounges.
Compared to 1-, 2- or 3-star hotels, a
4-star hotel is larger, more comfortable and offers room service, good cuisine and other facilities.
The highest level of hospitality is available in
5-star hotels, which offer the most luxurious rooms and guest services and amenities, often including sports facilities and a swimming pool.
Of course hotel prices vary according to their rating, with 1-star hotels being the least costly and 5-star hotels the most expensive.
That is why 3-star hotels – such as the Verlain
3 star hotel in Paris - are the popular choice of most travelers, offering a good, quiet and comfortable stay for a reasonable price.
